quick a minute.
update update. been out of touch.. wandering around the countryside of ireland. found my way to balleyvaugn, a tiny seaside town in the burren, clare county. was kept in good company of sheep and cows and windy stone walls. ruins from the 16th century mixed with lots of new contruction... you can see so clearly what ireland has been through, and how well they are doing now. even in such a tiny town. the salty "soft" air was good for the soul. again a place i would recommend to all. photos soon, just put up a few from my travels in spain with anne... that surely was a time to remember. it all has been. it makes me really happy to be able to share a bit of it with you.

what i mean to say is.. hola.
hi from sitges. anne and i found a little cafe with wireless here, this is a gift i tell ya. sitges is a little town just south of barcelona where we have been all week. there is beautiful quiet sandy beach here (er, we found the beaches in the city a bit lacking... by that i mean dirty/crowded/loud/crazy). so this is our second day away from the hassle of "barc". right now is siesta time, this means no shopping/quiet streets/naps... we are taking part in the cultural tradition by enjoying a little beer/coffee before things pick back up again this evening. we have been having quite a blast here, lots of seafood, shopping, gaudi, sangria. dodging in and out of "la ramba" scene. walking this city over and then once around again just for fun. equally inspiring as it is exhausting. we both fly off tomorrow early afternoon. anne back to st.lewis and myself back to london for the last week of travels. more pictures when i get a chance to upload things... for now i send good cheer and mil besos del sol. be well friends.

in croatia. on the sea.
hello hello and how have you all been? it seems like quite a little while since I last wrote to you! so here are a few pictures from where I am now, and also a few shots from Granada, Spain where I was for awhile with some friends from L’abri. it was a really fantastic time, the pace of life quite refreshing after being in London… we had such a beautiful spot there across the valley from the Alhambra. we spent most mornings and evenings just poking ourselves unable to believe the view. from there I spent one hellish afternoon evening night morning afternoon traveling from spain to croatia. then I fell into bed and didn’t get up for 2 days. FYI, though the idea might sound romantically vagabondish, sleeping in the airport is less than a good time. okay, I am over it. I have been in croatia for almost a week now… other than a bit of a tan and a journal that is almost full, there is not much to show for it. but that is okay, this time alone has been really well… nice. a simple word, but the goodness of that word seems to sum it up. nice. this town was built some time in the 3rd century… my apartment is three stories up, just a few meters down from the catholic church at the top of a hill that makes a tiny peninsula that is Rovijn. most days I either walk up the slippery stone alley to watch the fishing boats go by and read or I walk down to the rocky coast to watch the fishing boats go by and read. or walk to the market and buy some fish and read. or walk to a café for a coffee treat and read. today I rented a bike, but that lasted about an hour before I got restless and ornery … perhaps I have lost my ability to enjoy any activities that didn’t include or prelude reading. hmm, interesting. so yes. when it is just me and this tiny town, I follow the whims as they come. well its been nice chatting. on a final note I just want to say that the Adriatic is as blue and breezy and beautiful as they say, get here friends, if your lives depend on it! there is a little pirate ship with your name on it, and the best café con leche this side of 136 monroe center. miss you all. ciao.
